R YOU READY FOR

A NEW OPTION?

WHY R-HEALTH?

You know the landscape. Companies are paying 73% more for healthcare than they did in 2004. And who’s happy? Employers and subscribers are paying more to get less. Doctors don’t have enough time to doctor.

R-Health’s independent physicians imagine something better for their patients – old-fashioned long visits, backed up with new-fashioned technologies. We’ve grown rapidly but carefully, offering you both Accountable Care and Direct Primary Care, and a chance to change members’ lives for the better.

THE R-HEALTH IMPACT

STATS, SUCCESSES, IMPACT.

In addition to the (priceless) satisfaction we’ve spread, R-Health has changed some impressive numbers for our members’ sake.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions? We love questions.

How can R-Health possibly save members money and still give them better care?

That’s a good question. We do it three ways:

  • We’ve radically simplified how people pay for healthcare. It takes a lot of time and paperwork to manage the endless administration, deductibles, co-pays, and billing of traditional, third-party payer systems.
  • Primary care docs, rather than specialists, provide about 80% of patient care. It costs less for your primary to treat your cold than for an ear-nose-throat specialist to do so.
  • We reward care, not volume. In traditional systems, doctors are reimbursed more if they perform more treatments and order more tests. Inevitably, this drives up cost. We believe we’ve found a better way.

What’s the difference between Accountable Care and Direct Primary Care?

R-Health Accountable Care is our network of independent primary care physicians that partners with insurance companies to deliver superior primary care to plan members. We emphasize efficient communication and teamwork, and hold ourselves accountable to benchmarks of quality and cost containment.

R-Health Direct Primary Care enables employers to take control of their healthcare spending by partnering directly with our physicians to deliver true, relationship-based primary care for their employees and families. For one flat fee, members get unlimited visits to their primary, who offers same or next-day appointments, more personal communication, and availability after hours.

But…watch for changes. Right now, R-Health members choose either an ACO or DPC, but the times are changing fast. Soon we may see “hybrids” of ACOs and DPC, and other innovations. We’ll keep you posted.

Is there really one flat fee for Direct Primary Care? What if I need a specialist or a hospital?

Yes, there’s one flat free for primary care, which is 80% of the care most people need. That includes checkups, sick visits, and many routine tests, and all care in the primary’s office. If you need a specialist or hospital, your primary will refer you to one that’s in network for your insurance.

Am I limited to certain specialists or hospitals?

In all but a few instances, no. Just keep in mind that like any other service, doctor and hospital fees vary quite a bit, even in the same neighborhood. That’s why your primary is your quarterback, helping to determine where you can get the best care for the best cost.

How can I get in touch with my doctor after hours?

All R-Health practices let you communicate with your doctor by email or portal messages. Some use video messaging or texting too. Just ask.

This is so new. How can I talk to someone who’s used R-Health?

Simple. Email us and we’ll set you up with someone to talk to.
