We believe you should have access to your healthcare provider when and where it is convenient for you, whether in the office or on the go. And we believe you should be able to spend as much time as needed with your care team.

And that’s just what you’ll get with your team at the Pareto Health & Wellness Centers.

As part of your health benefits, you and your family now have access to the Pareto Health & Wellness Centers, at little to no out-of-pocket cost to you. If you have an HSA plan, there is a small fee, those with other plans have no cost.

ALAN SCHARRER, MD

KANSAS CITY

Dr. Alan Scharrer is a Family Medicine physician with 30 years of experience. Dr. Scharrer received an undergraduate degree from Marquette University and his Doctor of Medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Lutheran General Hospital. As a previous solo-practitioner for ten years, Dr. Scharrer believes that compassion and respect are essential in doctor–patient relationships, while helping patients achieve their best health. Dr.Scharrer is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the Missouri Academy of Family Practice, and the Southwest Clinical Medical Society.

ERIN BUCKLEY, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC

LEAWOOD

Erin Buckley, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC, has more than ten years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care and urgent care practices. She is an expert at evaluating and managing a wide scope of acute, chronic and complex medical problems, and preventive and routine medical conditions. She enjoys taking the time to get to know her patients and the issues they are facing, including mood and mental health. She was most recently a Nurse Practitioner with the University of Kansas Health Systems and, prior to that, with Premise Health. She received her Master of Science in Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Xavier University in Chicago. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Kansas Advanced Practice Nurse Association.

JANA GRABER, APRN, FNP

KANSAS CITY

Jana Graber is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 9 years of experience. Prior to joining Pareto Health & Wellness, Jana was a Nurse Practitioner at The University of Kansas Health System and Kansas University Urgent Care and Occupational Health, and before that a RN Nurse Clinician with United BioSource Corporation. She is committed to providing holistic patient care with a strong emphasis on patient education and disease prevention. Jana has her Master of Science in Nursing from Graceland University.

ELIZABETH DEXTER-MANADE, MD

Dr. Elizabeth Dexter-Manade, MD is a family physician who is dedicated to providing compassionate care to her patients. She feels that taking the time to listen to patients is the most important aspect of providing quality care. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Dexter has worked at various practices including positions at Encompass Medical Group, St. Luke’s Medical Group, and Advanced Family Care. She went to Medical School at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia and did her residency at UMKC. Dr. Dexter is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Missouri Academy of Family Practice.

How do I get started with Pareto Health & Wellness Center?

To schedule your first visit with a Pareto Health & Wellness Center, just simply call us at 816.319.0731 or send us a message using the Spruce mobile app. Once your appointment has been made, advanced paperwork will be sent to you to be completed prior to your first visit.

Can I keep my primary care doctor if I also visit a Pareto Health & Wellness Center?

Absolutely! You can utilize the centers in the way that suits you best. That might mean a quick visit when you’re feeling under the weather, seeing our doctor to manage a chronic condition, or even having our doctor serve as your primary care physician. If you decide to make the full switch to a Pareto provider, simply contact your previous physician and request your medical records. The choice is yours.

Are there fees to visit a Pareto Health & Wellness Center?

If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) and are visiting a Pareto Health & Wellness Center, there are a few things you need to know.

Per IRS regulations your employer is required to charge a fair market value for all services rendered at the Pareto Health & Wellness Center. When you check into the center, your care team will know if you have a HSA. The staff will log into our system to see if you have satisfied your deductible.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED A SMALL FEE IF:

  • You have not met your deductible and are seeing the provider for a visit other than an annual wellness exam. You can verify the amount with your HR department or by calling your Pareto Health & Wellness Center.
  • We will then submit a claim to your insurance company to ensure that your deductible will be updated to reflect the fee collected at the center. The fee includes all labs and medications that may be dispensed during the visit.

THERE WILL NOT BE A FEE IF:

  • You are visiting the center for your annual wellness visit. All labs and medications dispensed during your annual wellness visit are provided to you at no charge.
  • You are visiting the center for a lab draw.
  • You have already met your health plan’s deductible

How can I pay for my visit to Pareto Health & Wellness Center?

At this time, only electronic payments are accepted. This includes all major credit cards, FSA cards and HSA cards. No cash or checks can be accepted.

How is Pareto Health & Wellness different from a typical doctor’s office?

Our investment in getting to know our members is what really sets us apart. In a traditional practice, a provider may care for several thousand patients, but because of our exclusive relationship with your employers, we care for far fewer members. This model allows our providers to spend time with you, get to know you, respond in a timely manner to your needs, advocate on your behalf, and coordinate your care with specialists.

What services are available at Pareto Health & Wellness?

Our providers provide a full range of services including:

Does my employer have access to my medical records or receive any information about my care at a Pareto Health & Wellness Center?

No. The Pareto Health & Wellness Centers are operated independently by R-Health. All medical records are secure and private, as we adhere to HIPAA regulations for your protection. Your medical record remains confidential and can only be accessed by the clinical staff of Pareto Health & Wellness.

Are my dependents able to receive care at a Pareto Health & Wellness Center?

The monthly membership fee allows employees, spouses, and dependents who are on the health plan to access the centers. The Pareto care team will see patients ages 2 & up for urgent care issues and ages 10 & up for ongoing primary care services.

What is a virtual visit?

Virtual visits are one of the most convenient ways to receive medical care. This includes phone consultations, video visits, and texting through our secure mobile app. When medically appropriate, this allows you to stay in the comfort of your home, office or hotel when traveling and receive medical care virtually.

Virtual Visits work well for

  • Reviewing test results
  • Following up on health status with new therapy or medication changes
  • Nutrition and lifestyle coaching/education
  • Discussing next steps

Virtual Visits do not work well for

  • Conditions requiring physical exams (listening to your heart or lungs, looking in your ears, eyes, throat or feeling lymph nodes or glands)
  • Establishing with the practice since you must be physically present for your first visit

What happens if I need to see a specialist or become admitted into the hospital?

Whether you see a specialist or find yourself at the Emergency Department or admitted to the Hospital, our goal is to help coordinate your care. Since we often times don’t get notified, please contact your provider via a simple phone call or via the mobile app. By notifying your provider, our team can help with continued care (E.g. follow up appointments, obtain records, etc.). Because the provider knows your history and has your medical records, they may be able to guide your care more efficiently.

Do you take walk-in appointments?

Pareto Health & Wellness Centers offers walk-in appointments for your more immediate health needs, such as a fever, sore throat, vomiting, ankle sprains, or minor cuts or burns.

WALK-IN REMINDERS

  • Walk-in members are seen in order of arrival. A member who arrives after you may be seen before you if that person has an appointment
  • We cannot predict how long the wait time for walk-in services will be, you may have to wait an hour or more to be seen, but we promise to keep you informed while you wait
  • Our walk-in appointments are for members with an immediate concern
