How is R-Health different from a typical doctor’s office?
At R-Health, you’ll get a personal doctor, on demand. This means, your personal doctor can spend more time getting to know you – building a real and enduring relationship. We also focus on providing convenient access to a personal doctor. We guarantee little or no wait time for an appointment and unlimited access to your personal doctor via phone, digital messaging through our secure mobile app, and even video visits along with our in-person appointments.
How much does it cost?
There is no additional cost to you to claim your spot with a personal R-Health doctor. Access to R-Health is included as part of the New Jersey State Health Benefits Plan (SHBP) and School Employee’s Health Benefits Plan (SEHBP). There are no co-pays, out-of-pocket costs, and no hidden fees. Just great care from your personal doctor, on demand.
What services are included?
R-Health doctors provide a full range of services including:
Health and wellness coaching
Chronic disease management
Longer office visits
Onsite dispensing of medications for acute conditions
*Not offered by all R-Health doctors.
How does this affect my health insurance?
There is no impact on your health insurance, which is still there to protect you for any unexpected medical concerns. By joining an R-Health doctor’s office as a free addition to your plan, you’ll also enjoy the very best, most convenient care with your personal doctor.
Do I have to change my insurance?
No, this is not a change in your insurance. It does not impact your insurance at all. It is simply an add-on benefit for personalized primary care. However, R-Health is not available with the HMO or high deductible plans and also is not offered to Medicare retirees.
What happens if I need to see a specialist?
That’s where your insurance kicks in. But your primary care doctor will help guide you to the best specialists for your particular situation.
Where are your locations?
R-Health currently has multiple locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with more being added. Click here to meet our current doctors and find out where they are located.

Do I have to wait for Open Enrollment to sign up?
No, you can join at anytime during the year, not just during open enrollment.
I don’t need a doctor today, why should I join now?
Illnesses and injuries often happen after our office is closed and on the weekends. When this happens, we can care for you virtually via our secure mobile app or a phone call with your personal R-Health doctor. We also focus on prevention and health education. So, join and make an appointment so can provide you with the very best care.
Is this just urgent care?
No, the benefit of R-Health is that you have on-demand access to your personal doctor when you’re sick and you need it, BUT you also have access to the same personal doctor at any time to help keep you healthy. This provides you with consistent care – when and where you need it. Also, you may not always need to come into the office when you’re sick – your R-Health doctor may be able to answer your questions via our secure mobile app, a phone appointment, or even a video visit.
Does everyone on my health plan have to join?
No, this is an individual selection that is available to anyone on your NJ state or school health plan. One person could join, two could join, the entire family, etc. Plan members can also select different R-Health doctors.
