Dr. Jessy Joykutty Thomas is board-certified in Family Medicine. She finds great joy in empowering patients to manage their health. Prior to joining R-Health, Dr. Thomas was the lead physician at Riverside Medical Group in Bayonne, NJ. She has a passion for giving back and does so by mentoring college students, participating with local community events and clinics, and teaching. She has volunteered and visited clinics around the world, provided free healthcare for various homeless shelters, and has participated in many community charity events, networking, workshops and youth mentoring seminars.

MY PHILOSOPHY

One of the keys to providing good medical care is having ongoing conversations with patients about their health, lifestyle, and any other factors that might affect their health. Recognizing each patient as a unique individual who should get customized advice is vital to finding practical solutions for their needs. The pride and satisfaction a patient has once they have applied dietary changes, tried natural remedies or just followed a simplified medication regimen and successfully improved their health is so rewarding.

I love to spend time with my family – whether it’s Sunday dinners or family vacations, I love creating experiences together. I spend most of my free time baking, traveling, doing home improvement projects, reading or watching movies with my husband.

INTERESTING FACT

I grew up in Maryland as an only child, but I have so many friends and family spread all over the world that I’ve been able to visit 14 states, 2 territories and 8 countries. My travels have ranged from volunteering for a month at Clinica Esperanza in Roatan, Honduras to spending 1-2 months in UAE and India where I visited shelters and orphanages to taking nature hikes, snorkeling and island hopping in Hawaii.
